The WHAT EXACTLY IS HETEROSEXUALITY SHORT SLEEVE TEE is a unisex fit, short sleeve t-shirt made of a dense and sturdy 100% USA-grown cotton jersey with a rib-knit crewneck collar and a straight hem.

The text for this shirt has been adapted from Alan Wakeman's 1975 poster mural that mocked heterosexist platitudes. The front is printed with the text "WHAT EXACTLY IS HETEROSEXUALITY AND WHAT CAUSES IT," and the back is printed with a list of sardonic theories as to the root cause of heterosexuality. Alan Wakeman (1936-2015) was a British author, playwright and gay rights activist.

The shirt has a high-ribbed collar that provides a snug, comfortable fit that will not stretch out or lose its shape over time. The body is cut with a spacious fit in the sleeves and torso, making it relaxed and versatile enough to wear with anything. The fabric is beefy and does not feel clingy or drapey when you are wearing it. It has received a natural enzyme wash and has a slightly broken-in feel like you would expect from a shirt that has been washed and worn for years.

We recommend ordering "true to size." We know that can mean a lot of different things, but this is a fairly standard-sized tee.  Ricky (they/them) is wearing a size MEDIUM in the fit photos on this page. Click here for measurements and extensive sizing/fit guidance.

We recommend machine washing inside out on a gentle cycle in cold water, and tumble drying inside out on medium heat. Further info here.
